Soma has to be taken as per prescription. The usual dosage for adults is a single 350 mg tablet taken thrice a day & before going to sleep at night. The drug has never not been successfully tested in children below 12 years of age. In case of an overdose, medical attention has to be sought.

Alcohol consumption should be done with care when soma medication is being taken, since soma boosts the effects of alcohol. With certain other drugs, the effects of either could be altered as per doctor's prescription. Soma can pass into breast milk, hence mothers who breast feed should refrain from using it, unless a physician advises otherwise.
